I am Philip Hanyok and ready to help you improve internal communications. I am passionate about corporate and employee communications. I thrive on creating messages that improve company culture and promote the brand.
With more than 15 years of experience helping companies improve their employee and corporate communications, I can develop strategic internal and external communications to help you meet your goals.
As a newspaper reporter fresh out of college, I learned to write engaging stories. I honed my writing and editing skills as an editor at Fly Fisherman magazine, and later as an editor and web producer at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, where I was fully immersed in intranet sites, corporate website development and various corporate communications initiatives. I became especially good at employee communications, coordinating messages across multiple channels and telling a company’s story, both internally and externally.
Stories help build relationships, and relationships are a key to success. I build relationships and work with people to develop and implement coordinated communications that inform the target audience, support company goals and drive business results. As a writer and editor, I can transform complex information into easily understood content that is platform appropriate.
I have managed employee communications programs at Gulfstream Aerospace (16,000 employees worldwide) and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield (19,000 employees in several states). I was managing editor of Fly Fisherman magazine, where I increased circulation to an all-time high and played a key role in launching an award-winning and successful website that cross-promoted magazine content — growing both the magazine readership and the website community. I served as an adjunct instructor at Penn State University, where I taught magazine and newsletter editing.
I enjoy working with senior leaders, managing projects from beginning to end, partnering with vendors, and helping my team members to do more and grow.
My expertise is broad and includes corporate communications, employee communications, company intranets, marketing websites, public relations, town hall meetings, digital signage, executive messaging, crisis communications, project management and much more.
